Ricardo Filipe Rodrigues Matos (born 15 February 1979 in Santo Ildefonso, Porto) is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Vitória F.C. in the Portuguese first division, as a goalkeeper.

Football career

For the better part of his career, Matos played in the Portuguese fourth division, having two spells in the third: in 1999–2000, he played with Grupo Desportivo Recreativo e Cultural Dragões Sandinenses, representing G.D. Ribeirão in 2008.

In the 2008–09 season, Matos was second-choice with Varzim S.C. in the second division. In the following summer, aged already 30, he signed for top level outfit Vitória de Setúbal, along with nine other players,[1] despite the club's precarious financial situation.[2]

In his first season in Setúbal, he was the third-choice goalkeeper, making his first official appearance on 8 May 2010, in a 1–2 home defeat against already relegated C.F. Os Belenenses; Vitória narrolwy managed to avoid the drop.
